Welcome to Our Place
We are like millions of families who are touched by autism, doing our best to provide a rich, meaningful, and fulfilling life for our autistic daughter.
As you may know, there is no single known cause or cure, but autism is treatable. Children do not “outgrow” autism. With the right services and supports, people with autism can live full, healthy and wonderful lives. That is what we are striving to provide for Sally.
It is estimated that the lifetime cost of caring for a child with autism ranges from $3.5 million to $5 million, and as such, we are on a mission.
We have created 'My Autism Dolls'. Each rag doll is hand crafted and individually numbered, and made using Autism Awareness fabric.
Additionally, the texture and shape of 'My Autism Dolls' are specifically designed to provide an outlet for their repetitive behaviors, such as stroking the tassels of the body on the doll.
The doll also provides an outlet for their heightened sensory stimulation, particularly that of touch. The stroking motions are very soothing for many.
We designed 'My Autism Dolls' to assist our family with the ever increasing costs of helping our autistic daughter lead a normal and fulfilling life, as we embark on a journey of Help, Hope, and Healing with the millions of other families touched by autism.
There are many worthwhile charities and organizations, who are all striving towards the same goal. We have chosen to donate 10% of our profits to The Autism Society of Illinois. This money will help them fund critical research needed to find the cause, and ultimately, a cure, for autism.
Hopefully, your loved one will find some comfort and peace by having one or two of their own 'My Autism Dolls', and we can all join together, through donations, networking, and support to help find a cure.
